Description

Crusoe is on a mission to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. As the only vertically integrated AI infrastructure company built from the ground up, we own and operate each layer of the stack — from electrons to tokens — to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. When you join Crusoe, you join a team that is building the future, faster. We're in the midst of the greatest industrial revolution of our time. The demand for AI compute is boundless, and power is a bottleneck. We're solving that — with an energy-first approach that makes AI infrastructure better for the world and faster for the people innovating with AI. We're looking for problem-solving, opportunity-finding teammates with a sense of urgency, who believe in the scale of our ambition and thrive on a path not fully paved — people who want to grow their careers alongside a team of experts across energy, manufacturing, data center construction, and cloud services. If you want to do the most meaningful work of your career, help our customers and partners advance their AI strategies, and be part of a high-performing team that believes in each other, come build with us at Crusoe. About the Role: We are seeking a highly collaborative Modular Data Center Systems Engineer to serve as the technical "glue" between our modular hardware, site-level infrastructure, and high-performance compute teams for our Spark units. This role is not about owning individual thermal or electrical component designs in a vacuum; rather, it is about ensuring those specialized systems—designed by our subject matter experts—are seamlessly integrated into a high-functioning, deployable Modular Data Center (MDC). You will act as the primary technical coordinator between Electrical, Mechanical, and Thermal design teams to ensure that the "Spark" modular units meet all performance, reliability, and deployment requirements. You will manage the complex dependencies between internal MDC components and site-level "tie-ins," including UPS systems, transformers, and industrial cooling distribution units (CDU). This is not an IT or software role. This role is for engineers who are comfortable reading one-line diagrams, specifying CDUs, and troubleshooting power distribution in the field. What You'll Be Working On: I. CROSS-FUNCTIONAL SYSTEMS INTEGRATION - Technical Orchestration: Act as the primary technical interface between specialized engineering teams (Electrical, Thermal, Mechanical) to ensure their independent designs converge into a unified, optimized MDC architecture. - Interface Management: Collaborate with the Energy Development and Construction teams to define and validate site-level interface requirements, ensuring seamless electrical "tie-ins" (UPS/Transformers) and mechanical connections (CDU/Secondary Loops). - Deployment Readiness: Partner with Field Operations and Commissioning teams to translate design intent into field reality, serving as the lead technical coordinator during complex modular deployments. II. MODULAR ROADMAP & EVOLUTION - Liquid Cooling Transition: Support the transition from air-cooled to direct liquid-cooled (DLC) systems by coordinating the integration of CDUs and coolant distribution to the MDCs. - Standards & Compliance: Collaborate with compliance experts to ensure integrated systems meet UL, CE, and NEC standards for modular equipment, when and where needed. III. DOCUMENTATION & HAND-OFF - Unified Design Packages: Coordinate and maintain comprehensive technical documentation (i.e. LOD 400) by aggregating inputs from various engineering disciplines, ensuring a cohesive "data center in a box" blueprint for manufacturing partners. - Feedback Loops: Facilitate structured sessions between manufacturing (Crusoe Industries) and design teams to drive continuous improvement in modular system integration and MDC product roadmaps. What You'll Bring to the Team: - Engineering Discipline: B.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field. - Integration Expertise: 8+ years of experience in data centers, industrial systems, or complex modular infrastructure, with a proven ability to manage technical dependencies across multiple disciplines. - Collaborative Mindset: Exceptional ability to work across "swim lanes," influencing outcomes and driving technical consensus without needing to own every component design. - System Dependency Knowledge: Strong familiarity with the interplay between power (UPS/transformer tie-ins) and high-density cooling systems (CDUs), construction and manufacturing. - Technical Communication: Ability to synthesize complex technical challenges into actionable integration plans for diverse teams. Why Crusoe: You’ll be at the center of the world's most ambitious infrastructure projects, working with top-tier experts to build the future of AI compute. We offer competitive pay, RSUs, comprehensive health benefits, and a culture of collaborative excellence. Benefits: - Competitive compensation - Restricted Stock Units - Paid time off & paid holidays - Comprehensive health, dental & vision insurance - Employer contributions to HSA account - Paid parental leave - Paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability - Professional development & tuition reimbursement - Mental health & wellness support - Commuter benefits (parking & transit) - Cell phone stipend - 401(k) Retirement plan with company match up to 4% of salary - Volunteer time off Compensation Range Compensation will be paid in the range of up to $148,740 - $170,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicants knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
