JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly capable and mission-driven Senior Emergency Preparedness & Management (EPM) Specialist to support Saronic’s rapidly expanding operational footprint.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, has deep medical, technical rescue, and emergency management expertise, and is passionate about building enterprise-level readiness capabilities. The Senior EPM Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing Saronic’s medical, emergency response, and high-risk operational programs—ensuring regulatory alignment, operational readiness, and effective emergency preparedness across all sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Medical Preparedness & Response
- Develop and own Saronic’s global medical preparedness and response program, establishing standardized medical capabilities to support operations across fixed facilities, remote sites, and austere environments
- Develop and maintain medical response protocols, treatment guidelines, equipment standards, and medical caches for the Saronic Emergency Response Team (SERT) and field operations personnel
- Design, implement, and deliver medical training, competency requirements, and response exercises to ensure personnel are prepared to effectively manage workplace injuries, medical emergencies, and prolonged field care scenarios
- Partner with external and internal stakeholders to continuously evaluate operational risks, incorporate industry best practices, and strengthen enterprise medical response capabilities
- High-Risk & Technical Operations
- Develop and own technical rescue programs, including confined space rescue, high angle rescue, marine/water rescue, and other specialized rescue disciplines
- Develop and maintain standards, procedures, and rescue capabilities aligned with operational risk profiles and industry best practices
- Ensure appropriate rescue planning and response capabilities are integrated into all internal teams and work processes
- Manage technical rescue equipment procurement, lifecycle planning, and training requirements
- Emergency Response & Incident Management
- Oversee the Saronic Emergency Response Team (SERT) program across all sites, including training standards, certification pathways, mobilization readiness, and performance expectations
- Serve in Incident Command System (ICS) roles during emergencies and exercise as needed and help coordinate response efforts with internal stakeholders and external agencies during emergencies
- Drive continuous improvement through after-action reviews, lessons learned integration, and readiness evaluations
- Operational Preparedness & Site Support
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) and site-specific response procedures
- Assist with emergency response documentation, training records, and regulatory requirements
- Conduct site walkthroughs, hazard evaluations, and readiness assessments to identify gaps
- Partner with EHS Specialists and internal stakeholders to address emerging risks and evolving mission needs
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED
• Associate’s degree or higher in emergency medicine, emergency management, fire
science, occupational safety, public safety, or a related field (documented work
experience will be considered in lieu of degree)
• National Registry or Texas DSHS Paramedic (other paths like Nursing and Military
medical practioners will also be considered)
• 5+ years of experience in emergency response, technical rescue, incident management, or high-risk operational environments.
PREFERRED
• 8+ years of experience in industrial rescue, public safety, military emergency operations,
or technical rescue disciplines.
• ACLS, PHTLS, TECC, TCCC, CCP-C, FP-C, or other advanced prehospital
credentials/training
• Strong working knowledge of NFPA standards, ICS/NIMS, and emergency management
best practices.
• Demonstrated success developing, implementing, and sustaining emergency response or
rescue programs.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a focus on operational
readiness.
• Excellent communication and training skills with the ability to influence and engage
stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience delivering technical instruction to responders, operators, supervisors, and
leadership teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and emergency management or training record
systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, high-consequence
environments.
